Kristiina Valdman trio: Kristiina Valdman (EST) on vocals, Hector Lepe (MEX) on guitar and Tuomo Purhonen (FIN) on double bass are merging their musical vibrations and aligning their higher (also mid-range and lower!) frequencies to have themselves and the audience groove together in a Brazilian way.

miksu, mikko & severi trio is a new trio from Helsinki. The band got its start from the joint jam sessions of Severi Sorjonen, Mikael Saastamoinen and Mikko Antila, where the ensemble playing felt effortless and very flexible. Each member of the trio is bold in experimenting with new things and following the natural course of the music in an improvisation situation, which leads to seamless collective expression and memorable moments. The trio finds it important that each member gets to express themselves in a way that suits them best, and the end goal is not to fit a certain mould in music. Their playing highlights liveliness, freedom, and trust; combined together, these elements result in a captivating musical experience that holds the audience’s attention.
Mikko Antila – vibraphone, piano
Mikael Saastamoinen – double bass
Severi Sorjonen – drums

The Impromptu ensemble consists of musicians and dancers from Uniarts Helsinki. The performance is generated collaboratively through an improvisational practice in which different forms of music, sound, and movement can revise one another by changing concepts, techniques, and methods. In this ensemble, improvisers adapt themselves, their thinking, and their playing to new or unfamiliar situations by borrowing tools and ideas from movements and sounds created by each other. The ensemble explores the ways that improvisers work across contexts and boundaries to connect ideas, gestures, and materials and cultivate connective sensibility.

Ænie (Saku Liimatainen) is a Finnish experimental electronic music artist. Aenie´s musical taste and vision is heavily influenced by a fusion of electroacoustic experimentation, modular synths and noise. Many of his works dystopianly romanticize the industrial revolution and explore the symbiosis between humans and machine in a distorted manner.

Arvid van der Rijt (b. Soltau, Germany, 1976) is an audiovisual artist whose work explores the potential of the senses.
Making use of multiple media and materials, he brings together the bricolage of everyday trash, colonial knickknacks and Western kitsch, building a symbiosis of the imaginable, the visible and the invisible.
His immersive performances deal with the concepts of belonging and identity and build new constellations and labyrinths to help us find new ways of being lost, if nothing else.
His work has been shown in Finland and abroad including the Ann Arbor Film Festival, USA (2016), the Congo Biennale (2019), the AAVE Festival, Helsinki (2014) and Pixelache Festival, Helsinki (2021).
For Uniarts Fest he will do live visuals, using surveillance cameras and a collection of personal objects.
